Antiochus VI Dionysus was the ruler of the Seleucid Empire from 175 to 164 BC. He was the son of Antiochus V and Laodice IV, and the brother of Seleucus V. Antiochus VI was a child when he became king, and his mother and uncle acted as regents. In 170 BC, Antiochus VI was crowned as co-ruler with his mother, but she soon died. Antiochus VI then married Laodice V, his sister, and they ruled together. In 169 BC, Antiochus VI was assassinated by Laodice V.
