Xanthippe (wat eigenlijk “Blonde Merrie” betekent) was de (waarschijnlijk) tweede echtgenote van de filosoof Socrates. Ze wordt een paar keer vermeld in het werk van Plato en Xenophon. Er zijn bepaalde aanwijzingen dat zij Socrates’ tweede vrouw was.
