Hermann Günther Grassmann (German: Graßmann, pronounced [ˈhɛɐman ˈɡʏntʰɐ ˈɡʁasman]; 15 April 1809 – 26 September 1877) was a German polymath known in his day as a linguist and now also as a mathematician.
