1. Lê Quang Liêm (b. 1991)

With an HPI of 29.77, Lê Quang Liêm is the most famous Vietnamese Chess Player.  His biography has been translated into 20 different languages on wikipedia.

Lê Quang Liêm (born 13 March 1991) is a Vietnamese chess grandmaster, the top-ranked of his country. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 2006. Liêm won the Asian Chess Championship in 2019 and was the World Blitz Chess Champion in 2013. He has competed for team Vietnam at the Chess Olympiad since 2006. The best result occurred in 2012, when he scored 8/10 points on board 1 and his team finished in 7th place, the highest ever for Vietnam. Quang Liêm now lives in St. Louis, Missouri and is the head coach for the Webster University Chess Team.

2. Hoang Thanh Trang (b. 1980)

With an HPI of 29.31, Hoang Thanh Trang is the 2nd most famous Vietnamese Chess Player.  Her biography has been translated into 18 different languages.

Hoàng Thanh Trang (born 25 April 1980) is a Vietnamese-born Hungarian chess grandmaster. She was Asian women's champion in 2000 and European women's champion in 2013. Hoang competed in the Women's World Chess Championship in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2018.

3. Nguyễn Ngọc Trường Sơn (b. 1990)

With an HPI of 23.15, Nguyễn Ngọc Trường Sơn is the 3rd most famous Vietnamese Chess Player.  His biography has been translated into 15 different languages.

Nguyễn Ngọc Trường Sơn ([ŋʷiəŋ˨˦ ŋawʔk͡p̚˨ˀ˧ʔ ʈɨ̞̠əŋ˨˩ ʂəːŋ˧˥]; born 23 February 1990) is a Vietnamese chess player. He is the youngest Vietnamese ever to become a Grandmaster, and one of the youngest grandmasters in the history of the game, having qualified for the title at the age of fourteen.
