1. Wace (1100 - 1174)

With an HPI of 59.33, Wace is the most famous Writer.  His biography has been translated into 30 different languages on wikipedia.

Wace (c. 1110 – after 1174), sometimes referred to as Robert Wace, was a Medieval Norman poet, who was born in Jersey and brought up in mainland Normandy (he tells us in the Roman de Rou that he was taken as a child to Caen), ending his career as Canon of Bayeux.

2. Elinor Glyn (1864 - 1943)

With an HPI of 46.99, Elinor Glyn is the 2nd most famous Writer.  Her biography has been translated into 20 different languages.

Elinor Glyn (née Sutherland; 17 October 1864 – 23 September 1943) was a British novelist and scriptwriter who specialised in romantic fiction, which was considered scandalous for its time, although her works are relatively tame by modern standards. She popularized the concept of the "it girl", and had tremendous influence on early 20th-century popular culture and, possibly, on the careers of notable Hollywood stars such as Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson and, especially, Clara Bow.
