John of Dukla preached in Lwów, Moldavia and Belarus as superior of Lwów with his sermons credited for bringing people back to the church in his province. He went blind at age 70 yet prepared sermons with an aide until his death in Lwów in 1484. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on June 10, 1997 in Krosno before approximately one million people.
