1. Evliya Çelebi (1611 - 1682)

Dervish Mehmed Zillî (25 March 1611 – 1682), known as Evliya Çelebi (Ottoman Turkish: اوليا چلبى), was an Ottoman explorer who travelled through the territory of the Ottoman Empire and neighboring lands during the empire's cultural zenith. He travelled for over 40 years, recording his commentary in a travelogue called the Seyahatnâme ("Book of Travel"). The name Çelebi is an honorific meaning "gentleman" or "man of God".

2. Yaqut al-Hamawi (1179 - 1229)

With an HPI of 61.70, Yaqut al-Hamawi is the 2nd most famous Turkish Explorer.  His biography has been translated into 36 different languages.

Yāqūt Shihāb al-Dīn ibn-ʿAbdullāh al-Rūmī al-Ḥamawī (1179–1229) (Arabic: ياقوت الحموي الرومي) was a Muslim scholar of Byzantine ancestry active during the late Abbasid period (12th–13th centuries). He is known for his Mu'jam ul-Buldān, an influential work on geography containing valuable information pertaining to biography, history and literature as well as geography.

3. Eudoxus of Cyzicus (-100 - -100)

With an HPI of 49.38, Eudoxus of Cyzicus is the 3rd most famous Turkish Explorer.  His biography has been translated into 17 different languages.

Eudoxus of Cyzicus (; Greek: Εὔδοξος ὁ Κυζικηνός, Eúdoxos ho Kyzikēnós; fl. c. 130 BC) was a Greek navigator who explored the Arabian Sea for Ptolemy VIII, king of the Hellenistic Ptolemaic dynasty in Egypt.
