1. Hugues Fabrice Zango (b. 1993)

With an HPI of 43.91, Hugues Fabrice Zango is the most famous Burkinabe Athlete.  His biography has been translated into 30 different languages on wikipedia.

Hugues Fabrice Zango (born 25 June 1993) is a Burkinabé athlete who specialises in the triple jump and the long jump. He is the world indoor record holder in the triple jump with a jump of 18.07 m (59 ft 3+1⁄4 in) set in 2021 and the reigning world champion, winning the gold medal in the triple jump at the 2023 World Championships. Zango competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and won the bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, in the triple jump event, the first ever Olympic medal for Burkina Faso. He has also competed in World Championships, two African athletics championships, a Jeux de la Francophonie, two Summer Universiades and two African Games. He became Burkina Faso's first-ever Olympic medalist, earning a bronze medal in Tokyo, and set the African triple jump record at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha.

Marthe Koala (born 8 March 1994) is a Burkinabe athlete competing in the 100 metres hurdles, long jump and heptathlon. At the 2012 and the 2020 Summer Olympics, she competed in the women's 100 metres hurdles. She also competed in the women's heptathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics, but was injured during the shot put and was unable to participate in the remaining four events. At the 2023 World Athletics Championships she competed in the long jump and ended in 7th place.

Irakli Chkheidze (Georgian: ირაკლი ჩხეიძე; born 5 January 1999) is a Georgian weightlifter competing in the 105 kg division until 2018 and 102 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories).
