Isaac Singer

Isaac Merritt Singer (Schaghiticoke, New York, 27 oktober 1811 - Torquay, 23 juli 1875) was een Amerikaanse uitvinder, acteur en ondernemer. Hij maakte belangrijke verbeteringen aan in het ontwerp van de naaimachine en hij was de stichter van de 'Singer Sewing Machine Company'. Hij begon zijn carrière als rondreizend acteur.
