Born in the city of Graz in southeast Austria, Gspurning has been called up to the Austria national team 3 times, including 2 World Cup qualifying matches. Gspurning began his career at Austria Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga and moved to DSV Leoben after not appearing for the senior team.
