Gerald Mark McNerney ( mək-NUR-nee; born June 18, 1951) is an American businessman and politician who has served as member of the California State Senate from the 5th district since 2024. A member of the Democratic Party, his district includes all of San Joaquin County and the Tri-Valley area of Alameda County.
