Guillaume Philibert, 1st Count Duhesme, (French pronunciation: [ɡijom filibɛʁ dyɛm]) born on the 7th July 1766 in Mercurey (formerly Bourgneuf), Burgundy, killed on the 20th June 1815 near Waterloo, was a French general, politician and writer during the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. He was a commander of the Imperial Guard, Governor of Catalonia and a Peer of France. Napoleon wrote that "he was a fearless soldier, covered with wounds and of the greatest bravery, an accomplished general, who always stood firm in good and bad fortune". Read more on Wikipedia
