He won the David di Donatello for Best Actor in 2019 for his portrayal of building surveyor Stefano Cucchi, a victim of police brutality, in the film On My Skin. He gained international attention for his leading role in the Netflix crime series Suburra: Blood on Rome (2017–2020) and his portrayal of Stefano Cucchi in On My Skin (2018), which earned him the David di Donatello Award for Best Actor.
