Laozi
Lao Zi ou Laozi (também conhecido como Lao-Tzu, Lao-Tze e Lao Tsé chinês simplificado: 老子, pinyin: Lǎozǐ, literalmente "Velho Mestre") foi um filósofo e escritor da Antiga China. É conhecido por ser o autor do importante livro Tao Te Ching, por ser o fundador do taoismo filosófico e por ser uma divindade no taoismo religioso e nas religiões tradicionais chinesas. Embora seja uma figura lendária, Lao Zi é geralmente situado por volta do século VI a.C. Pensa-se que foi contemporâneo de Confúcio, mas alguns historiadores acreditam que ele viveu no Período dos Estados Combatentes, algures nos séculos V e IV a.C. É uma personagem-chave na cultura chinesa: tanto os imperadores da dinastia Tang como as pessoas hodiernas do apelido Li consideram-no o fundador da sua linhagem.
