Lon Chaney, pseudonimo di Leonidas Frank Chaney (Colorado Springs, 1º aprile 1883 – Los Angeles, 26 agosto 1930), è stato un attore, regista, sceneggiatore e truccatore statunitense. Fu uno dei migliori attori caratteristi della storia del cinema e sebbene sia ricordato maggiormente per le sue interpretazioni nei film dell'orrore dell'epoca del cinema muto statunitense, Chaney prese parte a oltre 150 pellicole, delle quali solo una decina possono effettivamente essere considerate appartenenti al genere (questi film, in quegli anni, venivano chiamati "dark melodramas").
