Cao Xueqin ([tsʰǎʊ ɕɥètɕʰǐn] tsow sh'weh-chin; Chinese: 曹雪芹; Pinyin: Cáoxuěqín); (4 April 1710 — 10 June 1765) was a Chinese novelist and poet during the Qing dynasty.
