Benedict Arnold

Brigadier General Benedict Arnold (14 January 1741 [O.S. 3 January 1740] – 14 June 1801) was an American-born senior officer of the British Army who commanded the American Legion in the later part of the Revolutionary War. He is best known for his defection from the Continental Army to the British side of the conflict in 1780.
