Andreu Nin Pérez (4 February 1892 – 20 June 1937), was a Spanish communist politician. In 1937, Nin and the rest of the POUM leadership was arrested by the Moscow-oriented government of the Second Spanish Republic on trumped up charges of collaborating with Francisco Franco's Nationalists and tortured to death by Soviet NKVD agents.
