Abd Allah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul (Arabic: عبد الله ابن أبي ابن سلول, romanized: ʿAbd Allāh ibn 'Ubayy ibn Salūl; died 631), was an Arab military leader and chieftain of the Khazraj tribe of Medina. Belonging to the Azd tribe's aristocratic clan, the Khazraj, which ardently opposed the Aws clan, Ibn Ubayy refused to participate in the Battle of Buath between the both factions, and gained support from the Jews of Medina. He was close to becoming the leader of Medina, but upon the arrival of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, he was instead offered sovereignty over Medina. Read more on Wikipedia
