1. Sándor Puhl (1955 - 2021)

With an HPI of 53.87, Sándor Puhl is the most famous Hungarian Referee.  His biography has been translated into 25 different languages on wikipedia.

Sándor Puhl (14 July 1955 – 20 May 2021) was a Hungarian football referee, best known for officiating four matches in the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States, including the final between Brazil and Italy. He also refereed UEFA Champions League matches, including the 1997 UEFA Champions League Final between Borussia Dortmund and Juventus. Dortmund ended up winning 3–1. He was elected as IFFHS' World's Best Referee of the Year four consecutive times: 1994 - 1997. After retiring as a referee, he was Deputy Chairman of the Hungarian Football Association (2000-2006). He also worked as a co-commentator for a Hungarian sports TV channel. Puhl spoke Hungarian, German, Italian, and English. Puhl died on 20 May 2021, at the age of 65 from post-COVID-19 complications during the COVID-19 pandemic in Hungary.

2. Viktor Kassai (b. 1975)

With an HPI of 49.96, Viktor Kassai is the 2nd most famous Hungarian Referee.  His biography has been translated into 32 different languages.

Viktor Kassai (Kassai Viktor, Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈkɒʃːɒi ˈviktor]; born 10 September 1975) is a Hungarian football official and a former referee who is the current head of refereeing department of the Bulgarian Football Union. He participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and refereed the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final. He has been a full international referee for FIFA since 2003. He retired as a referee on 30 December 2019.
