Azim Aslan oghlu Azimzade (Azerbaijani: Əzim Aslan oğlu Əzimzadə; 7 May 1880 – 15 June 1943) was an Azerbaijani artist, satirist, and caricaturist. He was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1927.

2. Sattar Bahlulzade (1909 - 1974)

With an HPI of 51.70, Sattar Bahlulzade is the 2nd most famous Azerbaijani Painter.  Her biography has been translated into 22 different languages.

Sattar Bahlulzade (Azerbaijani: Səttar Bəhlulzadə; 15 December 1909 – 14 October 1974) was an Azerbaijani painter, best known for his landscape paintings depicting the nature of Azerbaijan. He is considered to be the founder of Azerbaijani Impressionism. Among Bahlulzade's best-known works are Tears of Kapaz (1965), Bank of the Gudiyalchay (1953), Dream of the Land (1961), Evening Above the Caspian Sea (1959), and Goygol (1964). His works have been featured in exhibitions in Azerbaijan, the Soviet Union, and other parts of the world. The majority of Bahlulzade's body of work is preserved in the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan, where a special hall is dedicated to the artist. Some of his paintings are also kept in museums in Moscow, Tbilisi, Beijing, etc. Today, he is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of Azerbaijan, as well as a prominent figure in the history of Azerbaijani art in general. He is the recipient of many awards, including two Orders of the Red Banner of Labour and People's Artist of Azerbaijan.

3. Tahir Salahov (1928 - 2021)

Tahir Salahov (Azerbaijani, in full: Tahir Teymur oğlu Salahov, Russian: Таир Теймур Салахов; 29 November 1928 – 21 May 2021) was a Soviet, Azerbaijani painter and draughtsman. He was First Secretary of the Artists' Union of the USSR (1973–1992), Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, member of over 20 academies and other creative organizations throughout the world, including academies of art of France, Spain, Germany, and Austria. He was awarded the honorary titles People's Artist of the USSR (1973), and People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR.

Mikayil Huseyn oglu Abdullayev (19 December 1921, Baku – 21 August 2002, Baku) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani painter. He was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR (1963), and People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1963). Abdullayev created a series of paintings entitled Through India.

5. Vajiha Samadova (1924 - 1965)

With an HPI of 41.51, Vajiha Samadova is the 5th most famous Azerbaijani Painter.  Her biography has been translated into 18 different languages.

Vajiha Samadova (Azerbaijani: Vəcihə Əli qızı Səmədova; 24 November 1924 – 24 October 1965) ) was Azerbaijan's first professional female painter and was honored as a Distinguished Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1964. Shortly after her passing, her name was immortalized by dedicating a gallery hall in the Azerbaijan Artists Union to her memory. Presently, four of Vajiha Samedova's artworks are preserved and safeguarded within the collection of the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery.
