1. Lorenzo Gafà (1630 - 1704)

With an HPI of 51.08, Lorenzo Gafà is the most famous Maltese Architect.  His biography has been translated into 17 different languages on wikipedia.

Lorenzo Gafà (1639–1703) was a Maltese Baroque architect and sculptor. He designed many churches in the Maltese Islands, including St. Paul's Cathedral in Mdina and the Cathedral of the Assumption in Victoria, Gozo. He was the younger brother of the sculptor Melchiorre Cafà.

2. Girolamo Cassar (1520 - 1592)

With an HPI of 50.83, Girolamo Cassar is the 2nd most famous Maltese Architect.  His biography has been translated into 22 different languages.

Girolamo Cassar (Maltese: Ġlormu Cassar, c. 1520 – c. 1592) was a Maltese architect and military engineer. He was the resident engineer of the Order of St. John, and was admitted into the Order in 1567. He was involved in the construction of Valletta, initially as an assistant to Francesco Laparelli, before taking over the project himself. He designed many public, religious and private buildings in the new capital city, including Saint John's Co-Cathedral, the Grandmaster's Palace and the auberges. He was the father of Vittorio Cassar, another architect and engineer.
